Clinical Issues in Adoption: A Post Master’s Certificate Program
Sponsored by UConn School of Social Work & Southern CT State University, in cooperation with CT Department of Children & Families. This 45-hour certificate program will explore the challenges and complexities of working with diverse adoptive families.  The goal of the program is to develop a community of therapists and private providers who will have the clinical expertise to competently support adoptive families, particularly those who have adopted through the Department of Children & Families.  Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and can elect to earn 45 CEUs, based on attendance.  For further information and admission criteria, please contact Cathy Gentile-Doyle, LCSW, Faculty Coordinator at catherine.gentile-doyle@uconn.edu or 203.392.6915.

Family Constellations and Movements of the Soul

Family Constellations and Movements of the Soul, a method developed by Bert Hellinger, is an alive, uniquely fresh phenomenological experience. It has the potential to touch our deepest cores, transforming our lives and the lives of those around us. Hidden dynamics, often spanning two or three generations, may appear in the family “field” and lead to distress, illness and emotional difficulties. This work requires, while at the same time deepens, a profound respect for the mystery of life and the forces that shape it and move you towards peace in the soul. The “Workshop Series” is a group of independent classes with specific topics. You may attend just one of the classes, or all of them. All are welcome! The “Training Program” is a group of sessions geared towards therapists seeking to advance their own Family Constellations work. Therapists may attend just the Training Program or combine it with the Workshop Series. Place: Hamden, CT, unless otherwise noted.  Call for directions.  Contact: Ed Lynch – 203-481-3001
